Civil War Reenacting is more fun than I know how to discribe so you are just going to need to do it yourself to see what I mean.

Check us out!

Get to know us at our forum and see if  4th Virginia fits your style. All the different units put greater or lesser degrees of emphasis on authenticity, food, comfort, military structure, and camp life, so talk to us and see if we fit what you are looking for.

Our Forum

The goal of our club is to reenacting the experiences of a 4th Virginia Co F soldier. Families that reenact with us all have an anchor soldier to represent them in the ranks.

The Soldier

If you are a male or female over the age of 14, and can act the part, you can fight  in battles. The good news is, that if your below the age of 14, you can still play! The exception is that you cannot hold or use any type of rifle or revolver. With this being said however, Company F is very strict about enforcing safety and administrative rules prior to and at the battles. The senior officer present has absolute authority, like a captain at sea, to immediately deal with a safety violation, without question. We do not want any deafened, blinded, or blackened soldiers. Here are some basic requirements to meet prior to battles:

The Families

The support families to the soldiers can be involved in many ways. We have had whole families reenacting setting up their own tents near our military camp, families modern camp near by, and many fathers, sons, and friends.

Contact the Cap’n at captain@4thvirginia.org, He can give you more information if you’re seeking it.

We are very proud of the 4th Virginia and we accept fun loving, safety conscience people who enjoy our style of living history and our group dynamic.

All prospective recruits go through a probation period before becoming full members. We use this time to coach new members through acquiring equipment and gear, and to make sure the 4th Virginia and the recruit are a good fit.

During this time you’ll get to know our group, learn drills and be asked to complete a safety test. As a final test, you will be put through the ‘Manual of Arms’ and will also have you sign forms for enlistment, and pay dues (which are listed below).

If you want to play in the battles you will be required to join the NWCWC, which is the organization we belong to, those dues are also listed below.

If you are with us for more then a year and have participated in more then 3 battles, you will be given a unique item that will solidify you as a bona-fide Grayson Daredevil!
